Another common complaint is passage of too much gas through the rectum (flatulence). However, most people do not realize that passing gas 14 to 23 times a day is normal. Although rare, too much gas may be the result of severe carbohydrate malabsorption or overactive bacteria in the colon.

    rub her tummy
or move her legs like she is riding a bike…that helped my little one

It’s very normal and good…as long as she’s passing it and it’s not trapped. Try putting the drops in her bottle before you give it to her. Sometimes it helps the problem before it can start.

My heart goes out to you. My daughter had colic for the first few months(lots of gas). The only thing I could find to help her was to lay her tummy side down on my forearm and walk her around patting her on the back. It usually took at least a half an hour to get her to calm down, but it helped. And defintely talk to you pediatrician.
It could be a matter of changing formulas again.
    Good luck, sweetie.

OK. If you are using powdered, try switching to premixed. The powder caused gas and constipation in my little girl. Also, don’t switch her formulas suddenly. That can disrupt her digestion. For now, try moving her legs in a bicycle kick fashion. That usually helps. Also, if all else fails, take a thermometer coated in Vaseline and insert it half an inch into her rear. Hold it there for a few minutes. This is rectal stimulation. It will cause her to poo and relieve some of the gas.

My son had really bad gas. Go out and buy a Dr. Brown Bottle. They are a little expensive but did wonders for my son. He was drinking out of the Avent bottle at first. I tried EVERY bottle they made before going out and finally trying the Dr. Brown bottle Good Luck!!

Try Ovol drops, they worked wonders for my son, he had really bad gas when he was younger too. You might also look into trying a different bottle, my son is breastfed, so I don’t know anything about bottles though.

i used Little Tummies with my children and it worked wonders.. better than mylicon… i used mylicon at first , but it really did not do much to make my first child feel better…When i used Little Tummies gas relief drops it actually made a difference… good luck….

you can purchase little tummies at any drug store , it is usually near the mylicon drops or sometimes in the baby aisle…

Be sure the flow of the bottle is right for her. I LOVE the Playtex ventaire bottles. They are expensive, and the parts are a pain to assemble, but they really work. there are air vents in the bottom of the bottle that allow air to come in as formula goes out. no bubbles, no nipple collapse, no gulping air. I would just get one to try, to see if you like it. But my daughter used to have terrible gas. Those bottle have helped SO much. I no longer have to give her (generic) mylicon with every bottle.

Gripe water (I recommend either Wellements or Baby’s Bliss), is amazing stuff. With my son it helped him burp within minutes, soothed an upset tummy, and usually stopped hiccups in their tracks immediately. Costs about $ 10 for a bottle, which, once opened, lasts for up to 6 weeks.

You can find it at breastfeding supply stores (but it works great with formula-fed babies too from what I’ve been told by other moms), or even some grocery stores (my local grocery store carries Wellements).

I tried those drops too and they didn’t help. My son cried for the first 5 months. Try bouncing him gently on your knee or rubbing his tummy. The doctors aren’t much help as they will tell you she has colic. They do grow out of it.

If she is on Similac, that is milk based. Isomil is the soy form of Similac. If she’s not on Isomil try switching to that. You can also try burping her more frequently during feeding. Lay her on your knees applying pressure to her stomach while patting her back, that is what helped with my first daughter. Hope it helps.

Try peppermint water its always worked for my kids and for me and my brothers when we was a baby.take a piece of peppermint candy and shake it in a little hot water then add little cold to make the bottle warm or try peppermint extract and only put a tear drop of it in warm water and try it with ur baby.
